Bangalore: Harbhajan Singh ran through the Australian tail in what became his 12th five-wicket haul in Tests to dismiss Australia for 474. He ended the innings with figures of five for 146.

Michael Clarke became the 12th Australian to score a century on debut and his 151 was the sixth highest by an Australian in his first Test.

It was also the first instance of an Australian scoring a hundred on debut against India.

Clarke faced 248 balls and struck 18 fours and four sixes in his more than six hour's stay at the crease.

But Anil Kumble failed to take any wickets today.
