Kaif performs, leaves the rest to selectors
Friday, October 1 2004 11:40 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Middle order batsman Mohammad Kaif, who scored an unbeaten century for India 'A' against India Seniors in a practice game on Thursday, said he is feeling good after the knock but added that breaking into the national squad for the series against Australia would depend on "team combination" that the selectors would look for.

"I am feeling good. The rest is up to the team management," he told reporters after he hit an unbeaten 103 in the second innings of India 'A' on the penultimate day of the four-day warm-up match ahead of the first Test commencing on October 6.

"I want to focus on my job of scoring runs. The rest is up to the selectors...What they feel about the team combination."

Kaif said he had been trying to improve his game all the time and trying to get better technically and mentally.

"Going to England and playing One-dayers there was good. I scored a few half centuries there and after coming back, scoring a century today is going to help me in future games," he added.
